2010 Leadership Gainesville Applications are Available

Leadership Gainesville (LG) is a year-long community leadership program designed to identify, educate and develop leadership skills. Each year, approximately 40 individuals are selected to participate following completion of a competitive application process.  LG provides the opportunity to develop leadership skills by networking with individuals in the community that represent business, law, religion, civic groups, the arts, minority organizations, education, health care, government, human services and volunteer organizations.  Get your application here.  Read more about LG here.

Register Today to Advocate for the Heart of Florida

Join business and community leaders from Alachua and Marion Counties March 17 and travel to Tallahassee to meet with legislators and advocate for our region. Participants will hear from our region's political leaders on issues impacting Florida and the Gainesville area, and they will have the opportunity to develop relationships with our regional delegation and staff.

The day will start with the Alachua County Delegation Breakfast and a legislative briefing from the Florida Chamber of Commerce.  Appointments with elected officials will follow, and we will end the day with the Heart of Florida Days Reception. FEATURE STORy

A Gig for Gainesville

Google is challenging communities to “Think Big with a Gig.” If selected Gainesville will have networks that deliver Internet speeds more than 100 times faster than what most Americans have access to today. Now through March 26th, Google is challenging communities to show why they should be the new home - and leader - of this technology. We are that community! We need your help to prove it. And fast!
