FloridaWorks to Host East Gainesville Job Fair May 17

FloridaWorks will host an East Gainesville Job Fair on Saturday, May 17 at the Sidney Lanier Gymnasium, 312 NW 16th Ave, from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Employer registration is $50 and entry is free for job seekers. 5th Annual Celebration of Biotechnology May 20

In partnership with BioFlorida and the Sid Martin Biotechnology Incubator, the Council for Economic Outreach (CEO) is sponsoring the 5th Annual Celebration of Biotechnology at Progress Corporate Park in Alachua.

In its 5th year, this annual celebration continues to applaud and promote the ongoing achievements of the BioFlorida’s northeast (Florida) bioscience community. With more than 350 expected attendees, this event will showcase sponsors and vendors who provide a variety of services to the industry. Join senior executives, scientists and lab technicians who all work to fight diseases, improve our crops and create renewable energy resources.

For most high schoolers, spring break is a time to sleep in, hang out with friends, and maybe take a road trip to the beach. However, 20 local students (10 each from Alachua and Bradford Counties) spent their spring breaks getting a leg up in the transition from high school to college or the workforce.
